Is there anything I can do to help ease cramps in my preggo gf's lower abdomen?

Breastfeeding question... please help?
I am 36 weeks preggo, and I am wondering when my breasts will start to express fluid? I know it usually happens after delivery, but I am worried it might take a while until the babe will be able to even suck colostrum. If i try to manually express now, i get nothing. is this normal. i worry because i want to be able to breastfeed shortly after (hopefully within an hour or so) but will my breasts let down the colostrum that quickly after delivering? Do you think I'll have to supplement formula the first feed or so? Thanks for all who answer.

Relax, your body knows when it needs to produce. Your baby's suckling and the contracting of your uterus post-delivery will signal your body. I had plenty of milk with both guyren and didn't leak AT ALL pre-birth.

EDIT: I also flipped out when a couple hours after my first birth when I pumped (baby was in the nursery) and only got 1/2 a teaspoon of colostrum... I now know that's normal. Your baby has a tiny tummy and will feed frequently at first. Your body will produce more to meet your baby's demand.
